I Love NY Wine

Yes, aside from all the apple and fall treats the the Great State of New York is known for, it also has arguably some of the best wineries in the country. New York’s climate and geography make it a great place to grow grapes. As you travel West on the New York State Thruway from Albany you start to notice one thing, grape vines and a lot of them.  The same runs true for the southern part of the state and Long Island.

New York’s Niagara region boasts one of the only areas in the world where you can enjoy ice wine. This wine consists of grapes that are frozen to the vine before harvesting. It provides a very unique taste and is a  must try for any adventurous wine lover.

The Hudson Valley holds the title of having the oldest winery and vineyard,  the Benmarl Winery is the oldest vineyard and Brotherhood Winery is the oldest winery. Both are located a short drive from lower Manhattan.

If you are lucky enough to be located in or around the great state of New York, wine trips are a huge draw to today’s market, and can be a great opportunity for you to keep busy during the lull after summer.

Now once you have made the decision where to go, with so many wineries currently established,  it’s key to know what to pair the wine with. A lot of this is based on personal taste and since we are not wine experts we have supplied a link to give you some ideas to try on you next wine adventure.  http://www.winemag.com/wine-pairings/

If your staff has basic knowledge of the wine industry and can speak knowledgably about the subject, it will offer your clients that extra touch of attention to detail on their trip.We also have supplied more information on NY winery’s to help make your next trip a successful a one.
